Sen. Bill Cassidy is poised to lead the Senate’s health panel next year, a change seen as a boon for the drug industry.

The Louisiana Republican, currently the ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, is in line to replace Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) at the top of the health panel with Republicans reclaiming control of the chamber in Tuesday’s elections.
