Chances of Full-Year Funding Freeze Increase in Congress

House conservatives would back another year of level funding for federal agencies even if it means continuing some Biden-era policies, rather than force a government shutdown.

It’s a marked departure for the House’s political ideologues who often rail against level funding agencies. But they’re happy to keep agencies running on autopilot if it gives the White House broad discretion over government funding and a chance for future rescissions packages — even if it means attaching earmarks to win over Democratic votes.
