OpenAI, creator of the popular tool ChatGPT, registered its first lobbying presence in Sacramento last month as it looks to increase its influence on AI policymaking.
The San Francisco-based company, a pioneer in the artificial intelligence boom, hired lobbying firm Deveau Burr Group, which also counts Lyft Inc. and industry group TechNet as its clients, according to state records. The company, which didn’t respond to a request for comment, did not report how much it has spent on the hire.
