Coast Guard Launches Robotics Office in Reorganization Effort

The US Coast Guard is launching a unit focused on robotics and autonomous systems, including drones, as part of a broader effort to overhaul the service and dedicate resources to emerging technology.

The Coast Guard on Tuesday announced the creation of the Robotics and Autonomous Systems office, the first in a set of program offices planned under Force Design 2028, a reorganization outline from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Bloomberg Government first reported on the office.
