The Trump administration will keep paying the Coast Guard’s military personnel, blunting the effects of the ongoing shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.
Uniformed Coast Guard members and DHS law enforcement personnel will get their next paychecks thanks to funding from last year’s tax-and-spending law, according to an administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity. That includes sworn law enforcement agents in ICE, Customs and Border Protection, and the Secret Service, the official said.
