Colorado Gov. Jared Polis has gained a chance to weaken his state’s first-in-the-nation law against AI bias, thanks to President Donald Trump.
The Democratic governor has suggested that he might call state lawmakers back to Denver to respond to federal funding cuts from the tax-and-spending package Trump signed July 4. A special session would also allow Polis to make lawmakers reconsider the law (S.B. 205) restricting artificial intelligence systems before it takes effect on Feb. 1.
