Congress Reaches Housing Deal as Senate Readies Updated Bill (1)

The House and Senate reached a bicameral deal on an affordable housing package Tuesday, clearing the way for the Senate to advance the legislation this week.

Sens. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the chair and ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, and Reps. French Hill (R-Ark.) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), the chair and ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, issued a joint statement throwing their support behind the agreed-upon updated version of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
