Tougher Funding Work Awaits Congress

The longest-ever government shutdown may be over, but lawmakers have their work cut out for them ahead of the next funding deadline at the end of January.

President Donald Trump signed the legislation late last night to end the shutdown after the House voted 222-209 to clear the bill. Republican Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Greg Steube (R-Fla.) opposed the bill. Six Democrats flipped and supported it:

  • Rep. Henry Cuellar (Texas)
  • Rep. Don Davis (N.C.)
  • Rep. Jared Golden (Maine)
  • Rep. Adam Gray (Calif.)
  • Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.)
  • Rep. Thomas Suozzi (N.Y.)
