Congress Launches Robotics Caucus to Counter China’s Advances

House lawmakers announced the relaunch of a congressional robotics caucus to help ensure the US remains competitive against geopolitical rivals such as China that have been racing to dominate the industry.

Supporting robotics research and development, promoting public and private sector partnerships, and identifying risks and benefits of the technology, are among key policy priorities of the bipartisan initiative, according to a press release caucus leaders issued Friday.

The four co-chairs include Reps. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), Bob Latta (R-Ohio), Haley Stevens (D-Mich.), and Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.)—top lawmakers on issues related to technology and US competitiveness.
