Congress Leaders to Decide on $25 Billion Boost to Defense Bill

Congressional leaders will decide whether to increase national defense authorization by about $25 billion as part of compromise legislation that sets funding levels, pay increases and policy for the military, the chairman and ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee said in interviews.

The Senate and House Armed Services committees’ leaders have been negotiating a defense authorization bill for the fiscal year that started Oct.1.
