Congress should bolster its in-house think tank’s access to artificial intelligence that helps prepare briefings for lawmakers and their staff, leadership of the Capitol’s research arm said.
The Library of Congress is asking for an extra $5.4 million to establish a centralized AI enterprise platform in which it can develop and manage models to analyze legislative data for the Congressional Research Service and support organization of the library’s collections.
“Without an AI platform of our own, we will be left behind, as will Congress,” Acting Librarian of Congress Robert Newlen told the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Legislative Branch Friday. ...
