Congress Must Pass AI Whistleblower Protections, Advocates Urge

Congress should pass a bipartisan measure that would create whistleblower protections for former and current employees at artificial intelligence companies, more than 20 technology safety advocacy organizations urged.

The AI Whistleblower Protection Act (S. 1792) “helps ensure that those working to develop and deploy AI systems are not punished for acting in the best interest of the public,” the groups wrote in a Tuesday letter to Bill Cassidy (R-La.), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, where the bill has been referred.
