Congress Reverses Biden Block on Energy Development in 3 States

Three measures that reverse Biden-era restrictions related to fossil fuel energy development on federal lands in the West are heading to President Donald Trump.

The Senate this week cleared the GOP disapproval resolutions that would unlock millions of acres of Bureau of Land Management land to coal, oil, and gas leasing in North Dakota, Montana, and Alaska. The measures (H.J. Res. 104, H.J. Res. 105 and H.J. Res. 106) won passage under the Congressional Review Act.

The House passed the resolutions in September. Trump is expected to sign them into law.
