Cornell Taps Trump-Tied Lobbyist as Fight With Ivies Escalates

Cornell University retained the lobbying firm of Jeff Miller, a high-dollar campaign donor and fundraiser for President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, as the administration’s fight with elite Ivy League schools has intensified.

Miller Strategies disclosed it was lobbying on behalf of the Ithaca, N.Y., university on “issues related to oversight of institutions of Higher Education,” according to a new lobbying filing to Congress.

The Trump administration has said it is cutting federal grants and funding to Cornell and some of the nation’s other best-known private schools including Harvard University and Northwestern University.
