Cornyn-Paxton Runoff Lures Lobbyist Money, Business Endorsements

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) is missing support from President Donald Trump, but he has the backing of some of the nation’s biggest lobbying groups in his runoff against Ken Paxton.

The incumbent will find out next week if support from lobbying giants such as the US Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Realtors is enough to overcome Trump’s endorsement of the Texas attorney general, which added fresh intrigue one week before the May 26 election.
