Corporate America Braces for Post-Election Oversight, Regulation

A change in control of Congress in this fall’s midterm elections would force a shift in how corporate America and the business community seek to influence lawmakers and Washington policymaking.

A turnover of either of the Republican-controlled chambers would ramp up oversight and scrutiny of the Trump White House and businesses with ties to the administration. Democrats would install new leaders and committee chairs who have a more favorable view than Republicans of using government to regulate business and raise taxes on the wealthiest individuals and corporations.
