Two of the three Republicans seeking to unseat Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) got more from their own pockets than from campaign donors in the first two months of 2024. A few examples from the just-filed pre-primary reports:
- State Sen. Matt Dolan had $2.4 million left to spend on Feb. 28 after loaning his campaign another $2 million. Dolan, a member of the family that owns the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, has self-financed his campaign with at least $9.2 million and has the backing of the US Chamber of Commerce’s PAC.
