A key House Democrat is calling for greater transparency from organizers of next year’s FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics as US officials plan security for the events.

Rep. Nellie Pou (N.J.), the top Democrat on the House task force overseeing security efforts, criticized officials from the sports organizations for not testifying under oath or publicly answering questions about their preparations.
