Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva won a special party primary on Tuesday that paves the way for her to replace her late father in the House this fall.
Grijalva, a former county commissioner and Tucson school board member, had 62% of the vote in a five-candidate Democratic race, according to incomplete and unofficial returns. Deja Foxx, a 25-year-old progressive activist, was a distant runner-up at 21%.
