Democrats Accuse Homeland Security Chief of Running Down Budget

Key Senate Democrats are taking aim at the Department of Homeland Security’s spending on President Donald Trump’s deportation campaign, saying the agency will run out of money in months.

“Your agency will be broke by July, over two months before the end of the fiscal year,” Sen. Chris Murphy (Conn.), the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee’s homeland security panel, said Thursday as Secretary Kristi Noem testified.
