Democrats Fail to End Trump’s Energy Emergency as Costs Spike

Senate Democrats Wednesday once again failed to end President Donald Trump’s national energy emergency.

Lawmakers voted 47-51 to reject S.J. Res. 71, which would have terminated Trump‘s Jan. 20 executive order declaring a national energy emergency. The Senate voted down the same measure (S.J.Res.10) in February.

Democrats pushed for a second vote this year on a resolution to argue the administration’s stance on energy hurts American consumers.
