Democrats Go All-in on Affordability Message Ahead of Midterms

House Democrats began their sprint toward November elections Wednesday at a retreat in Leesburg, Va. focused on affordability.

“That State of the Union speech by Donald Trump was a disgrace, and now that we’re on the other side of it, it’s going to be a sprint to Nov. 3,” Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) told reporters at the event’s opening press conference. “House Democrats are on the verge of a takeover.”
