Democrats take Trump fight to the courts

Disempowered Democrats in Congress are banking their hopes to curb President Donald Trump on the courts.

The House and Senate minorities are adjusting to their lack of legislative influence as the GOP works to push its priorities through the party-line budget reconciliation process. Democrats see the courts as their best bet to stop Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from gutting federal agencies.

“The courts will be an important venue for holding Donald Trump accountable whenever he breaks the law and breaks his promise to the American people,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on the floor.
