Democrats are targeting 44 districts in their bid to take back the House, where DelBene said the party is pouring resources into the races and is confident in their ability to recruit top candidates. On their defensive side, DelBene said 24 frontliners who are fending off close GOP challengers are in a “strong position.”
“Republicans have a microscopic majority, and we have districts all across the country where we have the opportunity to flip those seats,” DelBene said.
The parties’ midterm messaging was on display at the State of the Union Tuesday evening. DelBene said Trump’s speech highlighted “how disconnected” he is from families, adding that Democrats will be able to focus on the impact of his tariffs.

DelBene also accused Republicans of trying to “rig the system.” Republicans have been working to pass voter ID legislation, which Democrats oppose, but it’s stalled in the Senate.
“We’re going to take back the majority, and we are prepared for whatever comes,” DelBene said.
