Longtime drug official Richard Pazdur met with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after abruptly retiring from a key job within the Food and Drug Administration and raised concerns about the direction of the agency, people familiar with the matter said.
Pazdur spent three weeks as head of a key drug approval division before suddenly announcing plans to resign on Tuesday. In a private conversation on Wednesday with Kennedy, Pazdur said he had misgivings about Commissioner Marty Makary’s leadership, according to people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to describe the meeting.
