Deportation Ads Take Over Federal Advertising Services Market

The Department of Homeland Security tripled its ad spending in fiscal 2025 compared to the year before, leading to record contract obligations for the agency as it implements President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda.

DHS spent $380 million in fiscal 2025 for advertising services contracts — an almost 300% increase from fiscal 2024 — making it the top spender among all nondefense agencies in that category for the first time, according to an analysis of Bloomberg Government contracting data.
