Disaster Survivors Face Shorter Time for Claims in FEMA Overhaul

The Trump administration is considering a narrower window for disaster survivors to file claims for financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem outlined the discussion Thursday in a meeting of the FEMA Review Council, a team President Donald Trump established to overhaul the agency.

The proposal is one of several changes the administration is weighing as it moves to reorganize FEMA.
