The head of President Donald Trump’s cost-cutting initiative, Elon Musk, will meet with Senate Republicans at a closed-door lunch on Wednesday according to a person familiar with the meeting.
Musk is slated to brief House Republicans in a separate meeting on Wednesday evening on his ongoing work as well.
The meeting comes as Republican lawmakers face backlash from their constituents back home over Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” initiative and its mass firing of federal workers and spending cuts.
