Federal money to help low-income Americans pay their energy bills is expected to be out the door by the end of November, the Health and Human Services Department told recipients Tuesday.
Recipients of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program “need the majority of their funds on hand to assist households during the winter months, and we are working expeditiously to meet this goal,” wrote Andrew Gradison, principal deputy assistant secretary at HHS’ Administration for Children and Families, in an email to recipients.
