The Environmental Protection Agency and Energy Department are among the federal agencies expected to lay off some employees as the government shutdown drags on, a court document revealed Friday.
Energy estimated 187 employees could receive reduction-in-force notices, while EPA estimated between 20-30 agency workers might be laid off. A document from the Office of Management and Budget filed in California federal court Friday listed eight agencies and a total of more than 4,000 employees slated for a reduction-in-force.
The Interior Department is not listed in the court filing.
