Executive Branch Spared from Bipartisan Stock Trading Ban Push

President Donald Trump and the executive branch have — for now — been spared from a new bipartisan push in the House that would bar lawmakers and their spouses from trading stocks.

The package was rolled out Wednesday and represents a step forward in the long-stagnant push to end lawmaker stock trading. The legislation has been in the works for months as part of an effort to capitalize on momentum for anti-corruption safeguards on Capitol Hill and could move to the House floor as soon as this month.
