House Republicans included nutrition support and livestock market tracking extensions in a temporary spending bill released Tuesday.
The continuing resolution proposed by the House Appropriations Committee would provide funding at a rate “necessary to maintain participation” to the Agriculture Department’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children — or WIC — through Nov. 21. The Trump administration earlier in September requested $8.2 billion in WIC funding for a stopgap measure through January 2026 to continue providing food aid to low-income pregnant women and young mothers.
