Farm Belt Democrats Boosted by Sagging Economy, Trump Ally Warns

Agricultural states that voted decisively for President Donald Trump will be more competitive in this year’s midterm elections because of a sluggish economy, according to the head of a leading conservative group.

“I think with the poor economy in the Farm Belt, it does give the Democrats an opportunity to challenge us in races that we would’ve otherwise assumed are going to be laid out,” David McIntosh, president of the Club for Growth organization that advocates for free enterprise, told Bloomberg Government Wednesday at an exclusive roundtable.
