The nation’s most powerful agriculture and food lobbies joined forces Tuesday, warning the Trump administration that its “inaccurate” claims about possible health risks caused by pesticides could discourage the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
More than 250 agriculture and food groups in a letter addressing three of Trump’s cabinet officials pushed back on a May report released by the Make America Healthy Again—or MAHA—Commission that pointed to pesticides as a possible contributor to childhood chronic disease.
