Farm Lobby Group Says Migrant Workforce Growth a Top Priority

The nation’s largest farm lobbying group is pushing Congress to overhaul migrant labor policies at the same time President Donald Trump is rolling out an immigration crackdown.

The American Farm Bureau Federation named expanding the migrant farm worker pool and recalculating their minimum wage requirements as two top advocacy issues for the coming year. Hundreds of Farm Bureau delegates from across the country gathered in San Antonio, Texas, at the group’s annual conference to vote on its lobbying priorities, which also included reauthorizing the five-year farm bill.
