FCC Fines T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Over Data Sharing

  • FCC fines wireless carriers for illegally sharing access to customers’ location information without consent and without taking reasonable measures to protect that information against unauthorized disclosure, according to a statement
  • Sprint and T-Mobile, now merged, face fines of more than $12m and $80m, respectively
  • AT&T is fined more than $57m, and Verizon is fined almost $47m
