Federal Market Shifts Unsettle Vendors, Upend Contract Trends

Civilian agencies have set contract termination records since the beginning of the Trump administration, according to Bloomberg Government analysis.

Deobligations from contract terminations — including termination for cause, convenience, or default — total $1.32 billion since Jan. 20, the highest in recorded fiscal years.

Canceled procurement for the US Agency for International Development put Chemonics International Inc. at the top of the list for deobligated contract revenue at $108 million. Medical services vendors Walgreens Boots Alliance and Quest Diagnostics Inc. were among other companies that had $50 million or more of previously agreed on procurement pulled back.
