Fertilizer Prices Draw Scrutiny from Senate Agriculture Panel

Senators on Tuesday raised concerns over the cost of fertilizer as the war with Iran leads to surging prices for farmers.

The Senate Agriculture Committee, led by Chairman John Boozman (R-Ark.) and ranking member Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), questioned witnesses during a hearing focused on improving the supply of affordable fertilizer as the US agriculture sector finds itself under increasing strain amid the conflict in the Middle East.
