Finland’s Stubb Worried Greenland to Suck Out Oxygen in Davos

Finnish President Alexander Stubb says he’s most concerned about the Greenland crisis dominating the agenda at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and that there’s less pressure to find a path to peace in Ukraine.

  • Speaking to reporters in Davos on Monday, Stubb says that the European Union has “many tools” to get US President Donald Trump to withdraw threats against Greenland
  • Sees three-step solution to the issue:
    • First de-escalate, especially the language around Greenland
    • Secondly, build a process to strengthen security in Greenland, especially through NATO
