Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced on Thursday a legislative agenda that would place more safeguards around artificial intelligence, especially in areas such as data privacy, consumer protection and the protection of minors.
DeSantis, who has opposed a Trump administration congressional effort that would block state governments from regulating AI, also proposed more rules over the development of data centers, which fuel the sector’s growth, so local governments could reject their construction.
