Georgia GOP Pushes 2028 Redraw as Political Control Faces Threat

Georgia Republicans are considering redrawing the state’s congressional map before the 2028 election, locking in political advantages while they still control the state’s mapmaking process.

The state’s legislature will meet in a special session beginning Wednesday that marks the latest move in a national tit-for-tat redistricting battle between the two parties.
