Google, Oil Companies Boost Lobbying Spending in California

Google and other tech companies ramped up their lobbying in California through the summer as the sector nabbed some major legislative victories in Sacramento.

Google led in lobbyist spending in the months from July to September with $10.7 million in expenditures, according to filings to the state Secretary of State that were due by Thursday. That figure is the most Google , a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has ever spent on lobbying in a quarter for California.
