Republicans Advance Oil, Gas Development Bill to Fund Tax Cuts (1)

The House Natural Resources Committee approved legislation that would increase fossil fuel energy development on federal lands and waters to help raise money for Republican tax-and-spending cuts.

Democrats blasted the Republican bill during a marathon markup that lasted into early Wednesday morning, calling it destructive to the environment and a giveaway of public lands to corporate polluters.
