Republican lawmakers are unsettled on a strategy to pass their agenda through budget reconciliation as President-elect Donald Trump has sent conflicting signals.
Trump on Monday left the door open to passing two reconciliation bills – a reversal after he initially called for one massive bill encompassing measures on the debt limit, tax policy, border security, energy, and defense. Trump said he’s “open to either way as long as we get something passed as quickly as possible,” on the Hugh Hewitt show.
