Conservative grassroots activists are gathering for their national convention, seeking to reset their election messaging as tensions grow over President Donald Trump’s military intervention in Iran, the cost of living, and a potential softening on immigration.
“We should be highlighting people doing great things and focus a little less on social media followings,” Matt Schlapp, American Conservative Union chairman, said in a Bloomberg Government interview. This year’s four-day CPAC conference, kicking off in Dallas Wednesday, will honor “actions, not just words,” he said.
