House GOP Stock Ban Compromise Slated for Wednesday Markup (3)

The House Administration Committee will consider long-awaited compromise legislation to bar lawmakers from trading stocks on Wednesday, putting the bill on a fast track after Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) announced it Monday.

The committee will also consider a bill (H.R. 5891) to withhold lawmaker pay during government shutdowns. Both measures are aimed at restoring the public’s trust in Washington as approval of Congress sits near historic lows.
