Republicans are more closely considering GOP-only health care legislation as the Dec. 31 expiration of Affordable Care Act subsidies nears, according to a source familiar with House leadership discussions.
House Democrats’ immediate dismissal of possible bipartisan options to deal with the subsidies earlier this week is driving those conversations, the source said. The comments come after a White House health care framework was widely reported, but never unveiled, earlier this week. Reports emerged Republicans were frustrated the plan included extending subsidies conservatives oppose.
