Shutdown Angst Erupts After GOP Senator Tracks Cars (Correct)

Partisan tensions over the shutdown exploded into public view at a Wednesday Senate hearing after a Republican senator revealed he had tracked down colleagues’ cars to see if they included safety features supported by Democrats.

“Would it surprise you that I got the VIN numbers of every one of my Democratic colleagues vehicles and found that none of them bought any of the additional safety technologies on their cars?” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) said while the Senate Commerce Committee vetted transportation-related nominations.
