A government shutdown would cost the travel economy $1 billion per week, a major trade group warned top congressional leaders Thursday.

Congress has until early next week to avert a shutdown of the government on Oct. 1 as President Donald Trump and Republicans continue to clash with Democrats over funding and a stopgap measure.
