House Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Sam Graves will keep his job next Congress, Republicans’ steering panel decided Thursday.
The move was expected after the Steering Committee granted Graves (R-Mo.) a waiver to serve another term past the conference’s three-term limit. Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.), the only challenger, dropped his bid Wednesday.
Graves’ selection puts him in a key position to craft a mammoth surface transportation package up for reauthorization in 2026. He will later be officially elected by the full House GOP.
